Pan-Florida Challenge Golf Tournament set for Oct 20 At Treviso Bay Golf Club to feed hungry local children

Naples, FL –August 23, 2018– Registration now is open for the inaugural Pan-Florida Challenge for Hungry Kids Golf Tournament to be held Saturday, October 20th at the TPC Treviso Bay Golf Club.

“We are excited to add this golf tournament to our schedule of events helping us raise funds to feed hungry children in Florida, “ said Pan-Florida Challenge Founder and Chairman Ed Mullen. “This is going to be a great event to that will enhance our ability to feed hungry children enabling them to maximize their academic opportunities and grow up healthy.”

The tournament will take place at TPC Treviso Bay, a picturesque and beautifully maintained golf course in Naples. Shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m. Registration opens at 7:30 and includes a continental breakfast, greens fees and cart, lunch, prizes, and silent auction.  Participants in the Pan-Florida Challenge for Hungry Kids Golf Tournament will enjoy Treviso Bay’s time-honored tradi-tions combined with modern golf course conveniences and amenities.

“Twenty-five percent of children in Florida are chronically hungry and struggle to sleep at night and study in school because they are preoccupied with where their next meal will come from,” said Pan-Florida Challenge Executive Director Jeri Goetz. “Chronic hunger causes an array of problems for children including increased school absences, developmental delays, and other behavioral, emo-tional, and social challenges.”

The Pan-Florida Challenge for Hungry Kids Golf Tournament is the newest event on the Pan-Florida calendar, joining its signature fundraising event, The Pan-Florida Challenge Ride for Hungry Kids. The 2019 PFC Ride is a two-day, charity bike event featuring ride routes of 10 to 200 miles. One hundred percent of rider-raised donations go to support the PFC Power Pack Program, feeding thousands of hungry kids.

Naples, Florida based Pan-Florida Challenge (PFC) is a 501 (c)(3) charity with a mission to end childhood hunger across Florida, one meal at a time. Pan-Florida Challenge has provided more than 4 million meals for hungry children through grants, sponsorship, benefactors, and an annual bike the ride event. The funding raised will feed 2,500 elementary school children at 37 schools and aftercare sites in seven Florida counties.
