Hundreds of cyclists are expected to ride from 10-200 miles on March 30-31 so that thousands of local Florida children will be spared the agony of chronic hunger. All funds raised by the riders will support the Pan-Florida Challenge Power Pack weekend backpack program, which already has provided more than 4 million meals to feed hungry children. Currently, the charity is providing weekend meals to 2,500 children in 35 schools who otherwise would go hungry.
“We are launching the 2019 Pan-Florida Challenge Ride for Hungry Kids earlier than ever before to give our wonderful riders as much time as possible to fundraise by sharing stories of the misery of childhood hunger and the importance of ensuring young children always have enough food to eat,” said Pan-Florida Challenge Executive Director Jeri Goetz.
The Pan-Florida Challenge Ride for Hungry Kids is presented by La Colmar Bakery & Bistro and receives support from two dozen sponsors including Sail Restaurant, Guidepoint Systems, Waterside Builders, Inc., WAVV 101.1 FM, Linda Walsh, and Soldavini & Caldwell.
The 2019 ride features five Florida bicycle routes that will begin and end at North Collier Regional Park in Naples with riders raising money to feed local Florida children. Cyclists who sign up to ride by January 15, will enjoy a reduced rate on registration and minimum donation commitments. All riders enjoy admission to the March 29th Kickoff Party, food and drink during the event, support and safety along the ride route, water stops, medals, and fundraising assistance. Riders will receive cycling jerseys or t-shirts depending upon the distance selected.
Donations to the Pan-Florida Challenge to help feed hungry children by or on behalf of riders are welcome and can be made online at this link. For sponsorship or other information contact us at email@example.com.
