NAPLES, Fla. — Feb. 21, 2020 — The Pan-Florida Challenge Cancer Ride will host Rahsaan Bahati, a professional track cyclist and 10-time USPRO National Champion, to ride alongside participants from March 28 to March 29 at Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers, Fla.
Bahati gained recognition in 2000 after placing first in the amateur USCF National Criterium Championship in Downers Grove, Ill. and has gone on since to win several other significant accolades throughout his career. He specializes in criterium racing and track cycling, and has previously raced with Mercury Cycling Team; Saturn Cycling Team; SKLZ-Pista Palace; Rock Racing Pro Cycling; TIAA Pro Cycling; Saturn Pro Cycling; and McGuire Real Estate Pro Cycling. He now manages and rides with his own Elite race team and has founded the Bahati Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the success of inner-city youth through education, music, and sports.
“I have my own foundation which supports inner-city youth to rise above their current circumstances. Not only do I give my all to the Bahati Foundation, but I also like to help other organizations reach their goals and have a positive impact on others,” said Bahati. “This is why I have registered for the Pan-Florida Challenge Cancer Ride and have committed to raising money to distribute cancer-fighting foods to hungry kids, to fund cancer prevention research, and to support cancer patients and their families.”
